Lavender Sweet
Lavender Sweet is a flowering plant native to Africa, Europe and Asia. This small shrub is largely pest and drought-resistant. It requires little care other than yearly pruning. This keeps the lavender flowers attractive and abundant. It is known for its gentle scent and soothing properties. It is used widely in laundry and cleaning products as it has a very clean, fresh smell. It is also very calming and is purported to help combat insomnia.
Palmarosa
Palmarosa is a species of perennial grass native to India and Indochina. It thrives in tropical and humid conditions growing up to 3 metres tall. It is bright green in colour with a strong thin stem. It has a sweet, rose-like scent making it a popular addition to cosmetics and soaps. It is especially useful in addressing skin complaints.
Chamomile Roman
A native to Western Europe and North Africa, Anthemis nobilis is a low growing flowering perennial plant. The name comes from the Greek meaning ground apple - due to its pleasant fragrance. Generally smaller than Chamomile German, growing to around 30cm, it possesses a series of angelates and butyrate esters. This plant has been used since ancient times for lowering fevers, hormonal support and as a gentle yet effective sleep aid. It can be consumed as tea, taken in pill form or, of course, as an essential oil.
Cedarwood Atlas
Cedarwood Atlas is a varietal of pine tree native to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco that grows to approximately 35m high. The essential oil that is extracted from its wood has a long history of usage in medicine and ritual, stretching back to ancient Egyptian times. A favourite in perfumery, it’s widely used today to bring rich, spicy base notes to fragrances and has the additional benefit of relaxing its wearer.
